Jericho Ditch is pleased to announce Ski Lift a solo exhibition
by New York based artist Colin Snapp. The exhibition consist of
a single channel video projection of an indoor ski hall
accompanied by a live air condition unit. Shot on location in
Dusseldorf Germany the video documents skiers as they slowly
descend the man made slopes. Filmed using an aqua filter and
slowed down during post production, Ski Lift acts to reveal the
majestic yet numbing sensibility of the climate controlled
landscape. Here the commodification of nature lives through an
ice box located in a German industrial zone.
Snapp was born on Lopez Island in 1982. He has been the subject
of solo and group exhibitions including Envoy Enterprises, New
York, NY, Union Gallery, New York, NY; USSA Fine Arts, Brooklyn,
NY, Other Cinema, San Francisco CA, Artist Television Access,
San Francisco CA, Diego 45, Barcelona ES and Preteen gallery
Hermosillo MX. The show will run through December 1st and then
travel to The Cultural Forum in Berlin.
