Jericho Ditch is pleased to announce Sleepless Night, a solo exhibition by Belgian
artist Koen Theys (b.1963).
The video was made during a study tour with the school where Koen Theys and Dirk
Paesmans were studying. During the night, they went with a 1000 Watt spot to the
dormitory of their fellow students, and filmed their reactions to the light. Afterwards
these images were put in relation with a burning cross.
Koen Theys has exhibited widely including venues such as The Museum Of Modern Art, San
Francisco CA, The Dynamite Show, Middelheim Museum, Antwerp, and Ru-Arts Gallery, in
Moscow. His work can be found in collections including The Museum of Modern Art, New
York, Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Ghent, and The Museum for Contemporary Art,
Seoul.
